- The Organiser is the Birkenhead Residents Association.
- Each photo entered constitutes one Entry.
- Each person may enter up to three Entries.
- Only Entries submitted via our Online Entry Form will be accepted.
- Entries may originate as digital photos or film but must be submitted in electronic form.
- All Entries must be in JPEG or JPG format and at least 1600 pixels wide or 1600 pixels tall.
- Each photo must be no more than 5mb in size.
- The photo must be taken in, of, or from Birkenhead. (See map below)
- The entire Entry must be a single work of original material taken by the Entrant. By entering the Entrant asserts that the submitted photograph is an original work created exclusively by the Entrant and that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other person or entity has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph.
- By submitting the photo, the entrant declares that they have the permission of all individual(s) captured in a photo(s) to share and publish their image. Large group shots are exempt.
- Entrants shall ensure that photographs containing sculptures or any other art do not infringe on any person or entities rights.
- Photographs must have been taken within one year before the date of entry.
- The caption must be complete, misrepresenting the origin of your content is cause for disqualification.
- Photographs with watermarks are ineligible.
- Images entered must be fit for public display (no nudity, drug or alcohol use, or illegal activities). The Organisers reserve the right to remove any entry it deems inappropriate.
- The Organisers and Judging Panel reserve the right to move entries into different categories from which they may be entered.
- By entering your photo into the Birkenhead Photo Competition, you grant the Birkenhead Residents Association and its Primary Sponsor (Barfoot & Thompson Birkenhead) permission to use the photo, along with your name as the photographer, for future activities promoting Birkenhead and/or the Photo Competition.
- Late entries will be accepted only with pre-agreement.
- Entries will be displayed publicly and on this website.
- All entries will be eligible for a People’s Choice award.
- Other than People’s Choice award, winners will be selected by a judging panel whose decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into about their decisions.

Tip: very long (panoramic) or very tall photos are discouraged as they don’t suit the layout of this website.
The Photo Must Be Taken in, of, or From Birkenhead
The Birkenhead Photo Competition is about capturing what people love about living, working, and playing in Birkenhead.
Therefore, photos should be in, of, or around Birkenhead (the word ‘around’ should not be confused with ‘surrounding’ areas) For the purpose of this competition, we will use the map below to define Birkenhead.
