James Frankham – Publisher, Photographer and Filmmaker
James is a new judge on our team this year and we are very pleased to have him on board. He is the publisher of New Zealand Geographic, NZGeo.com former editor (2008–2017), and a contributor since 2005 in writing and photography and director of the New Zealand Virtual Reality Project.
Prior to this James spent 15 years as a professional photographer and filmmaker.
Phil Fogle – Professional Photographer
We welcome Phil onto our team of judges again this year. Phil is a professional photographer with many years of experience.
His early career centered around magazine and fashion photography, while his more recent work includes Corporate story-telling and portraits. A collection of his early photographs of Susan Holmes’ work were collated in 2016 for the book Susan Holmes, Fabric Artist. philfogle.com
Helen Schamroth ONZM – Chair and Trustee of the Kaipatiki Public Arts Trust
Helen is also new to our judging team this year and we warmly welcome her involvement. Helen is a mixed media artist, writer, art consultant, and arts advocate.
Her background includes serving on the Arts Board of Creative New Zealand for two terms, curating NZ Sculpture Onshore twice, and HeadHandsHeart for the Christchurch Arts Festival. She wrote the award-winning 100 New Zealand Craft Artists.
